Kyle Gagneau
Kyle has been involved in hockey for over 30 years and has been coaching for 20 of those. His passion for development and maximizing the potential of all his players has driven his career since he started coaching. What first started as a summer job coaching at camps and clinics quickly lead to a staple for Kyle and pushed him to get his degree in Exercise Science from Michigan State University in 2012. After graduation, Kyle furthered his education by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), and Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS).
While his formal education is in Exercise Science, Kyle has also learned the game of hockey and coaching from some of the best in the industry, including Carrie Keil (NTDP skating coach), Darryl Nelson (NTDP strength coach), Brad Fast (MSU Director of Player Development), Ryan Kosecki (Youngstown Phantoms GM - USHL), Travis Richards (Former AHL Defenseman and Fox Motors U16 AAA Coach), and many more. Today, Kyle remains a student of the game, watching hockey not only for the entertainment value, but also to see what the best in the game are doing, why it works, and how to replicate it with his team.
Kyle's coaching experience has ranged from learn-to-skate programs all the way up to NHL players. He brings his knowledge of skating mechanics, strength and conditioning, skill development, game and system theory, film analysis, and coaching to each and every practice and game to help his players become the best that they can be.
